2014 CONGRATULATIONS to all our kitties who have found their 'FURR'-ever homes!!
Harley was a one-eyed, black and white alley cat; a furball with the attitude of a mountain lion who did as he pleased. He lost his eye young when someone let him escape, and rather than put him down, I paid for him to be fixed up from his injury, and he earned the name "The Thousand Dollar Pussycat." For 20 years we were the best of buddies, and he saw me through the beginning and end of a marriage, and the birth of my son, plus moving a lot to make myself a new home starting over. People accused him of being my familiar. They may have had a point, as we talked and argued and fought like best friends do, but at the end of the day, me and him lay down to sleep as pals. 20 years wasn't nearly long enough - and part of me went with him when he passed on. So when we came into Petco to get some ferret food, I saw another little black and white cat, who immediately jumped up and meowed at me. I said to my wife "That cat looks a lot like Harley." I went over to see him, and he rubbed up against my fingers through the cage, and obviously wanted out to see me ... and then I heard Keisha from The Litter Box call him "Harley." And I was done for. I could barely keep my composure as I petted the little guy and he rubbed and loved all over me. Two weeks later we took him home, and now he is one of the gang of cats and ferrets who run this house with their human staff. He likes kitty treats, chasing balls, catnip, and to help and supervise all the household operations. He is a climber and percher. When his people come home he climbs on the table and greets us, stretching up to rub his face on us, climbing on us, and purring. He is into everything, with that curiosity only a cat possesses, and has declared himself Field Marshal of the War on Paper Products. He's a tomato licking bacon thief who has mastered the innocent look so that you can't stay mad at him, and he loves to sleep with us at night. He's filling some big paws with his name, but filling them he is. And somewhere another one-eyed kitty named Harley is looking down saying, "Not bad, kid. Not bad at all." And no, Harley is not getting his name changed. He is and will always be Harley. The Elder Harley would approve of this little rascal.

Our kittens are doing great. They adopted to their new surroundings very well. Thank you again for chooing us. They both grew a little and they like to talk. Ramona wakes me up every morning to make sure I am staying on top of the feeding schedule :) We kept their names, but most of the time we call Ramona - Mona.
